It’s time to sprinkle some #BlackGirlMagic on your timelines! Meet Dawn Cook and Stephanie Johnson! Just this weekend, these two women have made history as the first two black women pilots to fly together in a cockpit!
The tea gets sweeter though! Not only does Stephanie happen to be Delta’s first black female captain, she also became the first female Black pilot for Northwest Airlines back in 1997.
According to DailyMail, Dawn was set to fly out of Detroit on Sunday and called up Stephanie to accompany her and from there, history was made!
Stephanie was recently featured in Delta’s “Very Own Heroes” series during Black History Month. To land a spotlight there, you must “pioneer diversity at the company.”
“I feel a great sense of responsibility to be a positive role model,” Stephanie told Delta. “There are so few women in this profession and too many women who still don’t think of it as a career option.”
We see you, queens!
