Back in 2015, #HulkHogan was fired by the #WWE and his Hall of Fame status was stripped away after a video of a racist rant—in which he used the N-word multiple times—went viral.
On Sunday, he was reinstated into the HOF and it sent shockwaves throughout the wrestling world. By his standards, Hogan has been working to make things right, however, WWE’s biggest African-American stars, #KofiKingston, #BigE and #XavierWoods of #TheNewDay say that they are indifferent about Hogan’s reinstatement, because they don’t really feel that he’s made a genuine effort.
“How do we feel? Indifferent,” they tweeted. “We are not happy or sad, angry or resentful. Who WWE puts into the HOF is totally and completely up to the company and from a career standpoint, there is no argument on whether or not Hogan should have his place.”
Still, The New Day refuses to respond to Hogan with hatred and instead wish to see him do better. “We do not respond with more feelings of hate,” the statement reads. “Instead, we just do not associate with the people who convey or have conveyed this negative and hurtful mindset. This instance will be no different. Perhaps if we see him make a genuine effort to change, then maybe our opinion will change with him. Time will tell.”
