Fans of the hit CW series “Black Lightning” may be excited to learn that a new possible spinoff is currently in the works, and it will star actor Jordan Calloway, as he reprises his role as Painkiller.
According to Deadline, the CW will air the planted pilot spinoff during the upcoming fourth season of the hit series “Black Lightning”, which is set to premiere in February 2021. The show’s developer and showrunner, Salim Akil, will write, produce, and direct.
Fans familiar with the show knows that Jordan plays Khalil Payne, who is the boyfriend of China McClain’s character, Jennifer Pierce/ Lightning. After getting tied up with Tobias Whale’s gang, he’s eventually turned into his killer alter ego Painkiller, who would later be used as a weapon by the ASA.
Jordan briefly tweeted about the spinoff by replying to a headline with a Marshawn Lynch gif that said “I’m thankful.”

Since there have been more black superheroes added to the network.
Back in July, it was announced that Javicia Leslie had been cast as the next Batwoman on the CW series. Making her the first black woman to take on the role of Batwoman on television.
