Apparently after the Oscars raised many eyebrows from Black celebrities for its blatant racial inconsistencies, it has also been reported that the cast of “Straight Outta Compton” did not get an invite to this year’s show either!
This is particular ironic since the movie did actually get a nomination for Best Screenplay…so where is the invite? According to TMZ, the only team from the over $60 million box seller movie that got an invite were the script writers…ouch!
It seems as though Ice Cube wasn’t interested in attending the awards anyways since he told TMZ cameras, “I aint worried about the Oscars!” Word is even if he had gotten an invite he most likely would have declined along with Will Smith, Jada Pinkette Smith and Spike Lee.
What he will be worried about is attending award shows that represent diverse talent, like the NAACP Image Awards and the SAG awards! And we can happily approve that both award shows has nominated “Straight Out Of Compton!” Lets chat below!
