It has been quite a cringeworthy year for Lil Wayne following #Birdman’s decision to not release his highly anticipated album Tha Carter V. The rapper pleaded with the CEO of Cash Money to release him from his recording contract, however, his request was denied and his album, as well as an $8 million advance, were withheld. This sparked a feud between the two which we saw get a little messy.
On a twist of fate, Birdman recently did an interview where he explains that he has goals to heal his relationship with his “son.”
“I’ma heal that. Still my son. I don’t like how a lot of s*** went down,” he told ESPN’s Cari Champion during her Be Honest podcast.
Weezy has been lashing out during concerts yelling, “F*** Cash Money!” and Birdman isn’t cool with that, however, his relationship matters too much to him and he seeks to heal it.
“Definitely, don’t like a lot of the s*** he has said. But at the end of the day, I would never in my life say nothing negative about him.” He said.
He continued, “Lot of s*** going on and we definitely talking as far as his end and my end. That’s a goal for me in this game. I said I want to finish the game what I started and Wayne’s somebody that I really would like to finish the game with. Even if we finish with respect of him still being my son. That means more to me than the money and the music. I don’t give a f**k about none of that. I care more about our relationship and that’s what I wanna heal.”
Lil Wayne’s $51 million lawsuit is still a looming cloud over Cash Money, and after Birdman lost a $3 million lawsuit last week, he could be coughing up some coins to Wayne very soon.
Birdman should just settle things as quickly as possible so that we can have more music!
