Roommates, the wait is finally over, as Big Sean and Jhene Aiko have just released the visuals for their fan-favorite single, “Body Language.” Big Sean and Jhene Aiko decided to pay tribute to some of the most iconic black romance movies of all-time in the video—and the result is just what fans have been anticipating.
Big Sean dropped the video for “Body Language” featuring his long-time girlfriend Jhene Aiko and it’s a love letter to some of the most classic black love stories on film. The clip begins with Big Sean and Jhene reimaging themselves as Darius Lovehall and Nina Mosely, from the legendary 1997 film “Love Jones” starring Larenz Tate and Nia Long.
The video continues with Big Sean stepping into Tupac’s shoes as the character Lucky from John Singleton’s 1993 classic “Poetic Justice,” with Jhene taking over Janet Jackson’s lead role.
Reenacted scenes from 1995’s “Waiting To Exhale” follow, as Jhene does her best Angela Bassett impersonation—including the iconic scene where Angela’s character, Bernadine, burns up her ex-husband’s car.
The last movie reference from Big Sean’s video is from the 1999 ensemble romantic comedy-drama, “The Best Man,” in which he portrays Taye Diggs’ Harper Stewart character at his best friend’s bachelor party, the role that was originally played by Morris Chestnut.
