‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star Candiace Dillard seems to think Beyoncé is taking styling cues from her fellow castmate, Karen Huger.
In a recent interview with Page Six Style, the reality star boldly shared the surprising remark, convinced that Bey relies on Huger for fashion tips.
So, what’s led Dillard to feel this way? Well, Queen B gave fans a taste of her newfound country-inspired style at the 2024 Grammys earlier this month. And a lot of people on social media felt that her outfit closely resembled something one would find in Huger’s closet.
As you’ll recall, the ’16 Carriages’ star stunned in a Louis Vuitton fit, which she paired with a white cowboy hat.
Bey is currently in the midst of rolling out her new album, ‘Renaissance: Act II,’ which significantly draws influence from the country genre and noticeably steps back from her R&B roots. The project drops on March 29.
But Dillard believes a particular someone inspired Beyonce’s newfound style. “OK, so Beyoncé, if you’re watching, we’re not mad if you were channeling Karen Huger,” the 37-year-old said.
The reality star and aspiring singer went on to say:
“I want you to know that when I saw you at the Grammys sitting in your Louis Vuitton Western frock — it was very cute — I saw Karen Huger.”
She also pointed out Bey’s new blonde hair, highlighting that the new cut shares a striking likeness to Huger’s signature tresses.
But it wasn’t just Dillard who felt the singer was channeling the TV star at the awards ceremony, with X users having shared coinciding thoughts after seeing Bey show up midway through the show.
“Beyonce really looks like Karen Huger I can’t,” one person by the name @ridydridinghood wrote on X.
Another X user by the name @2SweetScorpio added, “Beyonce really is entering her Karen Huger era wow.”
It’s no secret that Huger has been compared to Beyoncé in the past… at least when it comes to her fashion sense.
Back in August 2020, she wore an all-pink ensemble that drew some comparisons to Beyonce’s touring outfit when she usually performs her song, ‘Formation,’ per Bravo.
Speaking of tours, long before she accused Bey of getting her style from Huger, Dillard went to catch the Grammy winner at one of her Renaissance shows.
In August 2023, she took to Instagram, posting a series of photos of herself from the stadium. And judging by her caption, it seemed as if Bey and her daughter left Dillard satisfied by the end of the show.
The 37-year-old wrote, “(And Blu) did what needed to be done. Thank you for your service to us! Lol.”
Beyonce hasn’t addressed Dillon’s comment yet (and probably won’t).
The mom of three presumably has other things to focus her attention on, such as her haircare line, CECRÉD, which officially launched on Monday (February 19).
Roomies, do y’all think Bey is out here copying Ms. Huger’s looks?
