Bernie Sanders has officially responded to Hillary Clinton’s previous comments that “nobody likes him”—and he’s surprisingly unbothered. He’s instead focusing on Trump’s impeachment hearing which is has officially gotten underway.
Earlier this week, social media erupted when comments from former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton revealed just how she really feels about Bernie Sanders. The comments were taken from an upcoming Hulu documentary simply titled “Hillary”—which is a four-hour docuseries that will drop on the streaming service on March 6th.
In the heavily circulated quote from the film, Hillary brutally says this of Bernie:
“He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.”
When asked if she would endorse him if becomes the democratic nominee for president, she said this:
“I’m not going to go there yet. We’re still in a very vigorous primary season. I will say, however, that it’s not only him, it’s the culture around him. It’s his leadership team. It’s his prominent supporters. It’s his online Bernie Bros and their relentless attacks on lots of his competitors, particularly the women. And I really hope people are paying attention to that because it should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture — not only permitted, [he] seems to really be very much supporting it.”
A few hours after her comments spread online, Bernie responded with his own take on this—and he doesn’t seem to care too much:
“My focus today is on a monumental moment in American history: the impeachment trial of Donald Trump. Together, we are going to go forward and defeat the most dangerous president in American history.”
Bernie went on to say that Hillary was entitled to her opinion. When asked by reports why he feels she’s still talking about their brutal political battle back in 2016, he replied “I don’t know, ask her.”
Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
