A black leadership summit will be held at the end of this month, and let’s just say people are questioning the choice of speakers.
#BenCarson along with #StaceyDash are slated to headline the summit. Also coming, one of #Kanye’s favorite correspondents, conservative commentator #CandaceOwens.
As @RollingOut has noted, Carson and Dash, who are both staunch #Trump supporters, have been trying their best to get black electoral support for the current presidency and one way they are trying to accomplish that objective is by hosting #TurningPointUSA’s #YoungBlackLeadershipSummit. According to the website, the conference is scheduled for October 25-28 in #WashingtonDC and is for “young, conservative Blacks between the ages of 15 and 35.”
Carson is the current secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and will be one of the keynote speakers. He is known for his controversial commentary, most recently claiming the allegations against recently sworn in Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh were a century-old plot by socialists.
Stacey Dash is another questionable choice for a speaker as she once said on Fox News that she saw no need for Black History Month or BET.
And then there’s Candace Owens, who was anti-Trump two years ago, but has now aligned her political views with the conservative right. Owens is also notorious for calling the National Rifle Association “the nation’s oldest civil rights organization” that was founded “to train Black Americans to use guns to defend themselves against the Ku Klux Klan, a Democrat terrorist group,” and she happens to be the communications director for Turning Point USA.
The convention is free and open to the public. #Roommates, what do you think? Let us know!
