Prayers Up: Roommates, we are sending our thoughts and prayers to Beenie Man, as it is being reported that he fainted during his mother’s funeral over the weekend.
Video has surfaced from the event showing Beenie Man in the crowd at the gravesite for his mother, Lilieth Sewell, and an emotional Beenie can be seen collapsing into the arms of the men around him. Local news outlets in Jamaica are reporting that he was rushed to the hospital shortly after.
Beenie Man’s mother reportedly suffered a stroke back in July, and was hospitalized for a few months. She was reportedly discharged from the University Hospital of the West Indies sometime in August, and unfortunately passed just a few weeks later. She was 63 years old.
Shortly after her passing, Beenie Man announced that he would be building a community center in his hometown of Waterhouse, which he says will be named after his mother and grandfather.
