Roommates, do y’all remember when Stacey Dash told Meredith Vieira that if women wanted to see the wage gap close then they need to stop being lazy? She told the tv host, “Stop making excuses, if there are opportunities, seize them. And be prepared for them. And be the best, if that’s what it takes. If you have to be extraordinary, be extraordinary.”
After Vieira presented statistics to Dash, which illustrate the awful truth that women make 70 cents to the dollar in comparison to men, Dash mindlessly responded by saying, “I don’t know if that’s true,” and then added, “I know that the numbers are true, but I feel like your daughter will be able to make as much money as she wants in her life. Just like you are. I mean, look at you.” Next Vieira told her that she’s always been paid less than her male counterparts, but Dash remained unfazed.
Fast forward to this week, it is now being proven that Dash does not take heed to her own advice. Daily Mail got their hands on bankruptcy documents which reveal that 11 years ago, the actress, turned Donald Trump cheerleader, was drowning in debt and survived on $6,000 a-month payments from her now ex husband, James Maby.
Daily Mail Uk:
“Dash filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in May 2004 and said she had only $28,582 in assets but $157,703.53 in liabilities owed to creditors.
Her personal property included $7 in her checking account and $4,000 in household goods, furniture and electronics.
She listed miscellaneous photographs worth $500, as well as $2,100 in clothing, $600 in costume jewelry and 100 per cent interest in her company Bronx 13 Productions, which had a value of $0 but held $2,000 in the company bank account.
“The actress’ debts included more than $70,000 to the IRS in unpaid taxes and $3,378 to the California State Franchise Tax Board for unpaid taxes.”
Oh, Stacy. Maybe if you would have worked harder then you’d be better off financially.
