Jonathan Majors has secured his first movie role following his misdemeanor assault conviction. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 34-year-old is set to star in ‘Merciless,’ a supernatural revenge thriller.

Details On Jonathan Majors’ Upcoming Movie Role
The plot is reportedly based on a CIA interrogator who encounters and is forced to eliminate an evil energy that overtook his loved one. Filming is scheduled for the fall.
Christopher Tuffin, the producer of the box-office smash ‘Sound of Freedom,’ will produce the movie. Kevin Townsend and Kevin DeWalt will also be producers. Frank Hannah wrote the script, and Martin Villeneuve, brother of ‘Dune’ filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, is bringing the project to life.
As previously reported by The Shade Room, the actor lost several movie roles and campaigns after his legal troubles began. Searchlight Pictures backed out on distributing ‘Magazine Dreams’ after his guilty verdict in December 2023. Additionally, Marvel Studios dropped Majors after he was slated to play Kang in the ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ film.
Furthermore, Variety reported that Majors was axed from the film The Man in My Basement, a production by Protagonist Pictures.
The actor was also dropped from the highly anticipated film’ 48 Hours In Vegas,’ which centers around Dennis Rodman. Lionsgate intended to reveal the NBA superstar’s infamous Vegas trip during the ’98 NBA Finals. However, things fell apart when the ‘Creed’ actor was handed a guilty verdict.
Majors’ Assault Incident That Derailed His Career
As previously reported, Majors was accused of assaulting Jabbari during a March 2023 car ride. He was later found guilty of one count of misdemeanor third-degree assault and one count of second-degree harassment. Jonathan managed to curve one count of assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree.
Prior to his conviction, Majors’ career and opportunities were steadily rising. The thespian had a break-out role in ‘The Last Black Man in San Fransisco.’ He later nabbed Spike Lee’s ‘Da 5 Bloods’ and wowed viewers with his depiction of Tic in ‘Lovecraft Country.’
Critics say the role likely made him into a leading man. Majors has once more received the opportunity to carry a film with his role in ‘Merciless.’
