B.Simone Comments On Soulja Boy’s Music & He Goes Off
The drama began after the stand-up comic shared her disinterest in Soulja Boy’s music. On an episode of B. Simone’s podcast, ‘Let’s Try This Again,’ she expressed her feelings about the rapper’s music being played during a photoshoot. She said, “I don’t think anybody is ever saying put on Soulja Boy.” She added, “I have never once said, ‘Please put on Crank Dat…'”
“I would never say that. Why would I say that?” she quipped. Despite making her jokey jokes, the podcaster said that “he is a hip hop legend” and Souja deserves “respect.”
The ‘Let Me Get Em’ rapper caught wind of B. Simone’s comments and subsequently roasted her on live-stream. He insulted B. Simone’s pixie cut, stating, “I got more hair than you.” Additionally, he called her “ugly” and said, “You will never have kids.” Furthermore, he expressed that he didn’t think the podcaster was a good comedian and irrelevant in her field.
The Comedian Defends Her Comments
B. Simone stepped into The Shade Room in disbelief that the rapper was upset. She wrote, “This is nuts. I literally say, ‘We have to put some respect on Soulja Boy name. He is a trendsetter & an innvoator in the culture. So I respect Soulja Boy’ I literally say he’s a hip hop legend. God bless you @souljaboy Hope you good. But LTTA. TAP IN. Love yall.”
B. Simone’s bestie and fellow comedian @yesimprettyvee came to her defense, writing, “Don’t play with me @souljaboy. You better play with them other ones like this but not @bsimone. Again she said what she said, now WHAT.” She added, “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus you lying creature.”
The content creator chose to use Soulja’s roast session as an opportunity to promote her podcast. She added, “Come on the pod whenever you ready to talk about resilience & never giving up…. I’ll pray for you and we can hug it out @souljaboy [heart emoji] @letstrythis again.”
Soulja Boy later responded to B. Simone’s comment, writing, “you hurt my feelings [crying face emoji].”
