Ayesha Curry is sharing insight into why she’s become more private in posting her children on social media. As The Shade Room previously reported, Curry shares three children with her husband, NBA player Stephen Curry.
The 34-year-old recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Insider. During the conversation, Curry explained that the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic pushed her family to become more private.
“We kind of had a revolving door all the time…”
Curry said, speaking about her family’s lives pre-pandemic.
However, she added that the time to themselves allowed the Curry family to “figure out what we want for our lives” and “how to better ourselves.”
Additionally, Curry reflected on often posting her now-ten-year-old daughter Riley on social media. The author and television personality explained that she wouldn’t have publicized her daughter as often if she knew then what she knows now.
“When the social media thing started, nobody knew what that was going to become. If we had known back in the day just how chaotic it would make life, I don’t think we would’ve done it…”
However, Curry explained where she and her husband’s thoughts were at during the time.
“But we were just genuinely living our lives back then. And we thought, ‘This is our kid. We’re bringing our kid along.'”
Curry explained that now she and her husband are focused on giving their children more of a normal childhood as they continue to “learn” and grow as parents.
“We’re trying to figure out what that balance is. Just kind of learn as you go, right?”
During the interview, Ayesha Curry also reflected on her 2019 appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook series ‘Red Table Talk.’
“[The show] was edited in a way that made me sound crazy. It’s not what I said, and the context was weird. Yeah. I took that one personally.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Curry went viral after reportedly explaining that she would feel insecure about not receiving male attention outside of her husband.
