Janet Jackson Dances After Learning It’s “Soul Food Day”
The singer posted clips in her Instagram Story, describing the scenery as “beautiful.” Shortly after Janet arrived, she headed to the food station to grab a plate. She said, “I haven’t eaten anything…I’m ready to grub.” After reaching the table, a woman serving the food asked, “Would you like some catfish?” Janet asked, “What did you say?” in return. The server repeated the word “catfish.” “No, you didn’t,” Janet said teasingly. “Yes, I did,” the woman responded playfully. The server then showed her a stash of beautifully golden-browned catfish behind the table. Janet reacted with an “Ouuuuu” and hit a little dance.
As the woman looked for a piece of catfish that “had a little crunch on it,” Janet danced to Rihanna and DJ Khaled’s Wild Thoughts played in the background. A little ‘Ms. Jackson if you’re nasty’ popped out as she stuck her tongue out and rolled her hips and shoulders.
Janet Gets Down For Some Greens
The woman placed a piece of catfish on her plate and said, “This one gone make you dance too,” before asking, “You like mac and cheese?” Janet responded, “Oh, it’s that kind of day?” After the woman told her it was “Soul Food Day,” Janet paused in shock. “You got greens?”
The ‘Rhythm Nation’ dancer inquired. When the lady confirmed they did, Janet lifted her arm above her head and rolled her body from left to right. Furthermore, the woman explained that they had the dish with and without turkey for vegetarians. “Turkey. Oh my God,” Janet said with joy.
After Janet enjoyed her food, she played Connect Four for the first time. As she engaged in the game, Victoria Monet’s song ‘Alright’ began to play. Janet said, “I like this song.”
In the music video for the track, the 35-year-old paid homage to Jackson by wearing a suit and hat that mimicked the fit she wore in her 1990 music video ‘Alright.’ Janet’s Instagram Story clips ended with her walking around the Motor City park. You can catch the living legend on tour until October 2024.
