Somebody is definitely out to get the #AcademyAwards. Last night, the Oscars not only made a mistake during the announcement of ‘best picture,’ but they also screwed up during the show’s ‘In Memoriam’ segment!
Australian producer Jan Chapman, was shocked, to see her photo up on the screen, instead of Janet Patterson’s.
In case some of you don’t know Janet was a four-time Oscar nominee, and she passed away back in October 2016.
According to LoveBScott, The Academy had all of Janet’s credentials right on the screen, just the wrong face.
“I was devastated by the use of my image in place of my great friend and long-time collaborator Janet Patterson. I had urged her agency to check any photograph which might be used and understand that they were told that the Academy had it covered. Janet was a great beauty and four-time Oscar nominee and it is very disappointing that the error was not picked up,” Chapman told Variety by email. “I am alive and well and an active producer.”
