When it comes to the rap game you don’t necessarily have to be signed to a major record label to have success. Nowadays all an artist has to do is have a good team behind them, have good music, stay relevant on the internet, and connect to their fans. All of these things are what help keep Asian Doll in the spotlight. The former first lady of Gucci Mane’s ‘1017’ records has been independent since making the announcement that she asked to be released from the label last year.
She made the announcement via Twitter last January. Asian tweeted,”I feel like I owe my fans the truth so here it goes. I ASKED GUCCI MANE TO RELEASE ME FROM 1017 A COUPLE DAYS AGO & HE SAID ‘OKAY.’ IM OFFICIALLY AN INDEPENDENT ARTIST. Thank you Alamo records/Eskimo Records for the opportunity but I’m NO LONGER IN MY DEAL. THANK YOU, GOD.” After finding success with her latest single “Nunnadet S**T” it seems like she may be looking for a new label to call home to help her reach a bigger audience. Asian did a quick post and delete on Twitter earlier that threw her fans off. She tweeted, “I can see me signed to Yo Gotti. The only deal I’ll sign is a Yo Gotti deal. Other than that I’m independent.”
Yo Gotti’s record label Collective Music Group (CMG) has artists Moneybagg Yo and Blac Youngsta to name a few. Moneybagg has had a pretty impressive couple of years. Moneybagg’s biggest single “Said Sum” which was released last year spent 15 Weeks On Chart and peaked at number 46. It’s unclear if there are any female rappers signed to the label but fans were all here for Asian manifesting her goals. One commented, “Nothing is wrong with her MANIFESTING HER LIFE!! She can rap. I can see it. Don’t be haters now.” As of right now, Yo Gotti hasn’t responded to Asian but we will definitely keep our eyes on it and share the tea if he does!
