Ashanti is going viral after officially revealing that she’s pregnant.
On Wednesday, April 17, Ashanti took to Instagram to share a video with fans. The clip appeared to show footage of her preparing for a concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
As Ashanti prepares backstage, viewers can hear numerous voices asking when she’ll be ready.
“Shan, how much time you need?” one person calls out before Ashanti responds.
“Uh, I’m gonna need about nine months,” the singer replies.

To note, the singer shared the video on Instagram and even tagged Nelly, her current boyfriend. At this time, Nelly has yet to publicly comment on his girlfriend’s pregnancy.
Social media users reacted to the singer’s announcement in The Shade Room’s comment section.
As The Shade Room previously reported, in September 2023, Nelly confirmed that he and Ashanti rekindled their romance.
Then, in December 2023, social media began to speculate that Ashanti was expecting, per The Shade Room. At the time, footage surfaced of Nelly placing his hands on Ashanti’s stomach while they appeared at a gala event.
Most recently, Ashanti’s mom went viral after sharing an interesting reaction after being congratulated on her daughter’s milestone.
