Yesterday news broke that Aretha Franklin passed away at the age of 76. The Queen of Soul was battling pancreatic cancer and put up a good fight. Fans will have the chance to say their final goodbyes to Aretha because her family is planning on having an open casket ceremony.
According to TMZ, the service will take place in her hometown of Detroit at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. The same venue was used for Rosa Parks memorial back in 2005.
Thousands are expected at the open public memorial.
