Apple Will Release New Software For Face ID To Make It Easier To Unlock Your Phone While Wearing A Face Mask

#Roommates, now that wearing a face mask has become our new normal, many companies are adapting to that reality with adjustments to how they operate—and now Apple is the latest to offer up a new plan of action. The company just announced that a new software has been created for Face ID to make it easier for users to unlock their phones while wearing a face mask.

@NBCNews reports, earlier this week Apple announced its plans for quickly adapting to the rise of people wearing face masks for extended periods of time by implementing a new software feature. Currently, if you use Face ID to unlock your phone while wearing a face mask you have to actually lift the mask away from your face—but Apple has found a way to fix that.

In the new Apple iOS 13.5 beta 3 code, which was recently released to developers for testing, Apple simplifies the Face ID unlock process for those wearing masks by bringing the passcode field to the main screen. All you need to do is swipe up if you’re wearing a mask, and you’ll skip the Face ID display and enter in a code instead.

This also means users will be able to get to unlock their phones much easier while doing things like making mobile payments at a checkout counter instead of fumbling with your mask or waiting for a passcode screen to pop up. However, since this is still a beta version, it will likely be a few more weeks before a final version launches with the new Face ID feature enabled.

Apple has an even more impressive update coming your way as well. The new beta will also include the first release of new software from that will make it easier to build apps that notify people if they’ve been near somebody with Covid-19.
