Apple is finally giving its iPhone users what they want! Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC22) is trending on Twitter following the news of Apple’s newest updates for the iOS16 software. One of the most significant updates will allow users to unsend and edit text messages.
According to Apple’s press release, “Users can edit or recall recently sent messages, recover recently deleted messages, and mark conversations as unread so they can come back to them later.” In addition, a new feature called SharePlay will available in iMessage. The feature will sync content like movies or songs and share playback controls through texts.
Another feature that has people talking is the new safety check feature, which will support people who are in abusive relationships! The press release describes it as being, “Helpful to users whose personal safety is at risk from domestic or intimate partner violence by quickly removing all access they’ve granted to others.” It added, “It includes an emergency reset that helps users easily sign out of iCloud on all their other devices, reset privacy permissions, and limit messaging to just the device in their hand. It also helps users understand and manage which people and apps they’ve given access to.”
Driving to a location will now be easier for iPhone users, as significant changes to the Maps app will be available with the new update. The Maps feature will introduce multi-stop routing, which helps plan up to 15 stops in advance and automatically sync routes from Mac to iPhone. Transit updates, adding transit cards to Wallet, seeing balances, and replenishing transit cards will also be added to the Maps application. Siri, fitness, health, and the home screen will also be upgraded. Roomies, what features are you excited to use in the iOS16 update?
