Whew Chileeee! It’s been an eventful few days for now former Oakland Raider WR Antonio Brown, but it looks like he’s finally getting exactly what he asked for!
After exhibiting what some are calling outrageous behavior, Antonio took to Instagram, demanding he be released from his $50 million with the Raiders. The team fined Antonio a whopping $215k for detrimental team conduct in regards to an altercation with general manager Mike Mayock.
Antonio allegedly blacked on Mike, threatening to punch him in the face, and calling him a cracker. His outraged stemmed from a previous $15k fin for missing team workouts.
But, Antonio has finally had enough, and in a string of Instagram, posts, he demanded the Raiders release him. He says he will not conform to a system that has failed him, and he definitely is not letting up.
Just a few hours after, the Raiders announced that Antonio Brown is free to go if he so pleases! Antonio’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, had this to say regarding his free agency:
“Now that Antonio is a free agent, we are focused on the future and I will immediately work on signing him o a new team. Antonio is looking forward to a new beginning.”
And Drew wasted absolutely not time. Just hours after being released from Oakland, reports surfaced announcing AB’s new one year deal with the New England Patriots. The deal is reportedly worth $15 million, with a $9 million signing bonus.
We think it’s safe to say AB is more than excited about his new deal, because who wouldn’t be excited about $15 million?
He took to Twitter with a photo of himself in full Patriots gear with the caption “LFG #GodsPlan”.
Despite his excitement, football fans and Patriots haters are not too happy about the move. What are your thoughts, Roomies? Let us know in the comments!
