On the latest episode of Stepping Into The Shade Room, designer and reality television star Angel Brinks is showing off her luxurious “dream” mansion. As well as discussing her entrepreneurial journey, fashion design, reality television, and more with host Thembi.
The 40-year-old’s passion for fashion sparked while studying performing arts in school. Brinks took an interest in stagewear and soon began sewing. As she grew older, Brinks prioritized working hard and launched her signature designs and storefront. Brinks has created luxurious ensembles for the likes of Missy Elliot, Lil’ Kim, Xscape, Mary J. Blige, and more!
Outside of donning the celebrities, Brinks has also appeared on the years-long reality television series ‘Basketball Wives,’ where her romantic relationship became of significant interest to viewers and fans. Brinks shares what she thinks of fans’ opinions and how her time has been thus far on the reality series.
Brinks acknowledged fans’ criticism of her boyfriend RoccStar by explaining that despite the negative feedback, their relationship has “been amazing.”
It’s been amazing… You have to find somebody that you have the same values [with] and you share the same goals, morals, lifestyles… Rocc is just very driven. He’s always got his hands in something… and that’s just like me.
Brinks went on to say that they “don’t really pay attention to what people say.”
“I’m sure a lot of people have a lot to say… they always do… But our dynamic is cool. We literally laugh all day long… so we just really have a good time…”
Additionally, Brinks ended by explaining that the pair most recently welcomed a son, as reported by PEOPLE. However, despite being parents of children from prior relationships, blending the two worlds has never been an issue for their family.
“When we come together, it’s just one big happy family.”
Furthermore, Brinks also addressed returning to ‘Basketball Wives.’ She shared that despite receiving a harsh welcome on her first go around, when she returned to the show years later, her castmates showed her newfound “respect.”
“At first, they were just kind of like ‘Shut up… you don’t know what you’re talking about…’ So coming in, they didn’t respect me… I guess just with women, we probably feel like we don’t want new friends… and I feel like that’s how they came across, they didn’t really accept me. And I don’t know exactly why…”
However, Brinks ended by explaining upon her return, she came with “a vengeance.”
“I was like, you know, I’m going come back and I’m going to go with a vengeance. And they were so nice and so respectful, so it worked out.”
