Andrew Gillum Speaks Out About Being Found In A Hotel Inebriated–“I Understand What People Assume About That” (Video)

It’s been six months since we’ve seen pics of former Mayor of Tallahassee and Florida Governor candidate, Andrew Gillumin at a hotel, lying in his own vomit. Now, he has decided to open up and offer a few details about that night where he was found in a hotel with friends, one who was allegedly a male escort.

In the clip of the interview with Tamron Hall that airs next week, Andrew spoke about being ashamed of his actions. He also provided more insight about why he was in the hotel that night.

Gillum suggested that he was simply hanging out with friends, but he also understands the optics of it all.

“The reason why I went to that room is probably no different than how anybody might communicate with someone that they are in a friendship, relationship, whatever with,” the 41-year-old expressed. “Uh, I understand what people assume about that,” he added.

Gillum also stated that he didn’t recognize himself in the photo.

“When that photo came out, I didn’t recognize the person on that floor.”

As previously reported, Gillum offered an apology back in July and shared that he was in therapy.

“With a lot of encouragement from family and the people who love and care about me, I also got into therapy, where I could start to talk through what was going on with me. I knew if I had not dealt first with issues and addiction and the numbing that I chose with alcohol, there was no way I could start to pull back the layers and talk about what was truly happening underneath.”

As you may recall, the former Mayor of Tallahassee and Florida Governor candidate, Andrew Gillum, was in a Miami hotel, allegedly inebriated with Crystal Meth present. At the time, police were responding to an alleged drug overdose of Travis Dyson.

“Police say Gillum, who was not arrested, was too intoxicated to answer questions. An offense incident report says that officers found three clear plastic baggies of suspected crystal meth on the bed and floor.”

Gillum released a statement saying he attended a wedding. He admitted that too much alcohol was involved but he did not use any drugs.
