#Roommates, if you thought the #ChickenSandwichWars were over, you were definitely wrong because popular fast food chain Burger King has officially entered the chat. In a recent announcement, Burger King revealed that it is gearing up to release its new chicken sandwich…called the Ch’King.
When it comes to chicken sandwich options, the fast food market is already heavily saturated, thanks to Popeyes, Chik-fil-A, Zaxby’s, McDonald’s and more. You better get ready though because although Burger King may be late to the game, the company is coming for your coins courtesy of its version of the top tier chicken sandwich. @CNBC reports, beginning on June 3rd, Burger King will officially drop the Ch’King chicken sandwich, which the company says is different from its competitors because the chicken is fully breaded by hand.
If that’s not enough to tempt your tastebuds and get you to open your wallet, Burger King is also offering a free food incentive. All customers who order the new Ch’King via the Burger King app or online will receive a free Whopper, the promotion lasts until June 20th. Additionally, the company also revealed how they came up with the interesting name for the sandwich. Ellie Doty, Burger King Chief Marketing Officer, stated that the name was inspired by a customer who tried the sandwich during the testing phase and reportedly said that Bk should change its name to “Chicken King” and the name was then shortened to Ch’King.
Doty also addressed why Burger King is so late to the #ChickenSandwichWars party. “We really took our time to get it right, to get the reps in at the restaurant and make sure that every restaurant had their hand-breading station set up properly,” she said.
We’re sure that once the sandwich is released, customers will head to social media to voice their opinions…and hopefully for BK they like it.
