Amy Winehouse’s Family Opens An Addiction Recovery Home For Women

#Roommates I know you all remember Amy Winehouse? I mean who can forget such a soulful and powerful voice? It’s been five years since she has passed away and in her honor, her family is opening an addiction recovery home for women in London.

Winehouse passed in her home at the young age of 27 from accidental alcohol poisoning.

In September 2011, on what would have been her 28th birthday, her family launched the Amy Winehouse Foundation in her honor. This foundation was created to help women in London recover from various addictions.

Now with the help of the foundation, Winehouse’s family will open up a facility called Amy’s House. The recovery home is based in East London, where there is a 12 unit apartment complex that can hold up to 16 women each. The family’s goal is to create a 3-month recovery to help women who abuse drugs and alcohol readjust to society and remain sober.
