Popular online retailer Amazon just announced that in addition to holding its 1st annual Virtual Career Day, the company is also looking to hiring 33,000 employees with six-figure salaries.
@GoodMorningAmerica reports, Amazon is ready to make thousands of professional dreams come true by holding a free, first-of-its-kind virtual career fair that could help attendees land a six-figure position and highly valuable one-on-one career coaching. Amazon’s Virtual Career Day will officially take place on September 16th and include interactive workshops and speaker sessions for an estimated 20,000 people. The company is also set to hire 33,000 new corporate and technology workers at an average compensation of $150,000, which includes salary and stock, according to a recent statement from the company.
Amazon hopes to build on the success of last year’s Career Day events that were held across six U.S. cities and contained 17,000 job seekers. This new virtual event will fortunately allow everyone to participate in the Virtual Career Day 2020 regardless of their location. “COVID-19 continues to affect millions of people across the country, and people are eager for the opportunity to get back to work,” Beth Galetti, SVP of Amazon Human Resources said in a press release.
Galetti continued, adding:
“We’ve created more jobs in the U.S. over the past decade than any other company – and we are continuing to hire people from all backgrounds and at all skill levels. We are glad to be able to mobilize more than 1,000 experienced recruiters and HR professionals to help job seekers across the country learn about opportunities at Amazon and elsewhere.”
These potential job opportunities from Amazon come at a time when many are dealing with job loss, layoffs, reduced hours and more serious impacts to their finances due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
