Amanda Seales called out Justin Timberlake among other celebrities for allegedly turning off their comments under posts made in support of Ahmaud Arbery, the 25-year-old Georgia man who was gunned down by two white men while jogging.
Ahmaud’s story has received national attention these past two weeks as people demanded justice in his name after two months had passed and no arrests had been made until Thursday.
Justin Timberlake shared a picture of Ahmaud saying, “If you’re not outraged, you should be. Justice for #AhmaudArbery.” The comments under the post were turned off.
Amanda Seales took it upon herself to jump on her own page to call out Justin and other “white celebrities” who she felt didn’t have the guts to turn their comments on and see what their respective fanbases have to say about the posts.
“Dedicated to @justintimberlake and the white artists showing ‘solidarity’ posting about #ahmaudarbery but closing their comments/IG replies,” Amanda said in the caption of a video she uploaded. “Ain’t no half steppin. This is how you ally. You get in the weeds with your fans who are also fans of racist rhetoric. #TURNEMON.”
Amanda sang a song about it over Teddy Pendergrass’ “Turn Off the Lights,” in the 3-minute video.
“This goes out to all those white celebrities. You see I turned off my comments ‘cause I got tired of arguing with racists. But you know what — it’s your turn,” Amanda opens up the video.
“It’s time for you to see, who’s been following you. They gonna show ya, show ya true colors. Confederate Karen and her husband, red-faced Ken,” Amanda sang.
