Over the weekend, many celebrities and basketball legends flocked to Chicago for the NBA’s annual All-Star Weekend. As many of you know, the vibe for the year’s event was different as many fans and peers are still mourning the shocking passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna.
As we previously reported, the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced that the All-Star Game MVP trophy was renamed the Kobe Bryant MVP trophy.
Jennifer Hudson was also on hand to give an incredibly touching performance to honor Kobe, Gianna and the other beautiful souls that were lost. However, it was the moment after the tribute that started making its rounds on social media that warmed everyone’s hearts.
In a video shot by a fan, Allen Iverson, who was rocking a Kobe Bryant jersey, and Dwyane Wade were seen bumping into each other inside of the United Center in Chicago following the tribute. The two basketball legends were spotted embracing each other within that special moment.
According to NBC Sports, both Kobe and A.I. careers overlapped while they were still in the league. They both played together in six All-Star games. They both also had special interactions with Kobe as well. Allen and Kobe entered the league the same year, and D. Wade made his final All-Star Game, the same year Kobe retired.
