All Wednesday Playoff Games Have Been Postponed As Teams Protest In Response To The Shooting Of Jacob Blake

The players of the National Basketball Association (NBA) is taking a stand following the recent shooting of Jacob Blake.

On Wednesday, it was announced that all playoff games have been postponed, as the teams have made the decision to boycott their games. Things started to pick up steam when word got out that Game 5 between the Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic would not be taking place as the Bucks made the decision not to leave their locker room.

They were scheduled to hit the court before 4 pm EST. However, when they did not come out, officials went into their locker room, and that was when they learned about the boycott.

The Bucks are the official team for Wisconsin, and that is where the shooting against Jacob Blake took place on Sunday. As we previously reported, he was shot several times in the back by Wisconsin police. It was later revealed that he survived the shooting, but he was left paralyzed from the waist down.

Shortly after it was announced that the Bucks were boycotting their game against the Magic, it was revealed that the Lakers vs. Portland and the Rockets vs. OKC would not be taking place as well, and it was officially announced that all Game 5 playoff games have been postponed.

According to the Associated Press, the league did not announce when the games would be rescheduled.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN tweeted, “The NBA, owners and front offices didn’t see this wave of player boycotts coming today. Hours ago, they all expected to be playing these games tonight. This is a pivot point for the NBA and professional sports in North America.”

LeBron James also tweeted in response to the injustice surrounding Jacob Blake and said, “F*CK THIS MAN!!!! WE DEMAND CHANGE. SICK OF IT.”
