Last night, we reported a hijacking that took place on a plane that was en route to Cairo, but was diverted to Larnaca airport in Cyprus. The Egypt Air flight had 59 passengers on board and as of this morning all passengers have been released from the flight!
It is claimed that Egyptian native, Seif El Din Mustafa, was wearing a suicide belt. Cyprus city officials allege that he hijacked the plane over dealings with his ex-wife. A witness told CNN’s Ian Lee, “The hijacker was at the back of the plane, directing the crew from behind a curtain, so it was hard to get a good look at his face. The passengers were crying and screaming. But the crew acted very professionally throughout, trying to keep everyone calm.”
So far, Mustafa has been detained and while he is unstable, he does not possess any explosives.
There are still very little developments, so we will keep you posted, Roommates! #PrayForTheWorld
