Alex Trebek Reportedly Done With Chemo, Preparing To Return To Jeopardy!

Roommates, Alex Trebek is in good health, and is back to the grind! Five months ago, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and has been making strides to remission since.

According to CNN, Alex is finally done with his chemotherapy treatments. A spokeswoman for the show confirmed that Alex is back at work taping the new season of ‘Jeopardy’, which will begin airing on September 9th.

“We have some exciting things coming up and I can’t wait to share them with all of you,” Alex says in a video. “Let me tell you, it’s going to be a good year.”

Alex announced his battle with cancer back in March via video.

“I’m going to fight this,” he says. “And I’m going to keep working, and with love and support of my family and friends, and with the help of your prayers, also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.”

He continued to tape episodes for season 35 while undergoing cancer treatment in the spring. At the time, he said he had to beat the disease because his contract required he host Jeopardy for three more years.

In May, we reported on Alex’s progress, and doctors were excited about his body’s response to treatment. Doctors confirmed his tumors had shrunken by more than 50%, and we was in remission.

Now, Alex Trebek is excited to be completely healthy and return back to his rightful place on the game show.

“I’ve gone through a lot of chemotherapy and thankfully that is now over,” he says. “I’m on a mend and that’s all I can hope for right now.”

We’re praying for a full recovery for Alex. Are y’all planning on tuning in to this season of Jeopardy, Roomies? Let us know in the comments!
