A round of congratulations is in order for rapper Akbar V who just learned that she landed her first-ever movie role!
The 33-year-old rapper and reality television star received the good news from her cousin Kandi Burruss. The two revealed that they were related to social media users back in 2019 when Burruss shouted Akbar out on Instagram. And promoted the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta series she was featured on.
Burruss also appeared in an episode of the series as well.
Burruss hopped on Instagram Live to share the good news with her cousin.
My agent had sent you an audition and we had sent you to get with a coach… Akbar had an acting audition y’all, for a movie. And you got the part!
Akbar V instantly became excited and began jumping up and down.
I got the part! I got the part!
The 33-year-old rapper then became emotional and began to cry.
You got the part!
Burruss screamed, excited for her cousin. And then explained how proud she is of Akbar for “making changes” in her life.
Girl, God is showing up and showing out!
As The Shade Room previously reported, Akbar V stepped into TSR to share a life update with fans. And reveal that she was working on shooting a reality show.
What did you learn during your time — your different seasons on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and will you ever go back to doing reality tv in the future?
The host, China Lovelace, asked the rapper and reality star.
If I would go back to doing reality tv, I would have to be somewhat in it, like [as] one of the producers to make a lot of decisions with it.
Akbar V went on to explain more about her upcoming reality show.
