TSR Positive Images: The holidays are not only meant to spend with family but to give back to those in need and A$AP Rocky surely has not forgotten where he came from. He spent some time giving back to families at a shelter where he and his mother used to live.
According to TMZ, A$AP cashed out on 120 hot meals from Amy Ruth’s–one of his favorite restaurants in Harlem–and personally delivered them to the Regent Family Residence. The homeless shelter currently serves 83 families, including 111 kids.
A$AP and his mother, Renee Black, reportedly stayed at the shelter back in the early 2000s, and benefited greatly from the services provided there. TMZ reports that A$AP followed all COVID-19 safety protocols while delivering the meals, including contactless delivery.
A$AP was not the only celeb getting in on the Thanksgiving cheer. Many others, including Tory Lanez and Russell Westbrook, gave back to communities in their own ways.
In an Instagram post, Tory let it be known that he spend about $15,000 to provide families with turkeys and groceries for the holiday.
“I used to be homeless and I hated Thanksgiving cuz I wasn’t able to afford sh*t or cook sh*t. This is my way of helping whatever kid might be going through the same thing as me,” he wrote.
