The Biebers recently made headlines as both Justin and Hailey opened up about experiencing serious health issues within months of each other. Hailey Bieber was hospitalized in April after experiencing a stroke, and Justin Bieber announced he’s been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome–conditions that have brought them even closer together, according to Hailey.
Mrs. Bieber recently spoke with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest and reflected on the impact their recent diagnosis’s have had on their relationship.
We are both dealing with older illnesses for sure. Honestly the silver lining in the whole situation–what he went through, what I went through–it really bonds you. I feel like we’re closer than ever. It really brings us close. So I’ll take that away from it.”
In a video to his fans, Justin shared the news of his Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis and explained that half of his face is temporarily paralyzed. He apologized for having to cancel his upcoming shows, but revealed that it’s been progressively harder to eat since the virus damaged the nerves in his ear and face.
Hailey shared the news of her hospitalization in a similar fashion. After being rushed to the hospital in April, she revealed tin a YouTube video that she suffered a mini-stroke due to having a small hole in her heart.
I had a small blood clot that traveled through a hole in my heart that I was born with that never closed, and went to my brain. I never knew I had a hole in my heart, so it’s actually a blessing in disguise because then I discovered that and I had a procedure done to close it. So now I have a device in my heart forever.”
