“Ay, where the party at?” Uber is rolling out some major changes for their customers just on the brink of summer. According to CBS News, the rideshare company plans to introduce several new features, including; party bus booking options, robot food deliveries, and new travel accommodations!
In a recent statement, Uber’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said, “Travel is coming back in a big way. I think people have been sitting at home too long, and they want to get out there.” As demand for rides increases, Dara said the company would also launch products like a new charter service shortly.
Customers using the popular rideshare app will be able to specify the number of passengers, exact time, and place where the charter vehicles, party buses, passenger vans, or coach buses are needed. “We’ll give you the upfront fare, all of the information, and make sure that that charter gets you in time to go have a good time,” Dara explained.
Uber isn’t letting its foot off of its competitor’s neck! Dara also confirmed that the company is also working with robot delivery services for its food delivery platform, Uber Eats. Friendly sidewalk robots will autonomously navigate the streets of Los Angeles in a pilot partnership with Serve Robotics. Described as ” little cube robots,” customers will put in a code and receive their food upon arrival.
But wait, there’s more! Uber users will also have options to organize travel accommodations like a hotel, flight, and restaurant reservations on Uber Travel in the future. Customers can download all travel information from their Gmail accounts through the app to make easy arrangements.
With so many new features coming for Uber customers, their competitor Lyft will have to step it up!
Roommates, which new feature are you most excited to use?
