According to NBC news, three Americans were found dead at a Sandals Resort in the Bahamas, and a fourth person was hospitalized.
Reports state that a man was found unresponsive on the floor in a bedroom. Bahamas Acting Prime Minister Chester Cooper said “foul play was not suspected.”
A woman and another man were also found unresponsive but in another villa. Officials state the man was found in the bathroom, and the woman was found in the bedroom. “Both individuals showed signs of convulsion,” the force said.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene, and “no signs of trauma found.”
“Nothing is more important to Sandals Resorts than the safety of our guests,” the resort said in a statement.
“We are actively working to support both the investigation as well as the guests’ families in every way possible during this difficult time. Out of respect for the privacy of our guests, we cannot disclose further information at this time.”
The resort also said that the incident was first classified as a “health emergency.
Authorities also stated the cause of death would be determined by the coroner’s report.
The U.S. Dept. says they’re “closely monitoring” the situation.
