Rapper Coi Leray is on the rise but her family legacy, which she’s made clear she wants no parts of, continues to follow her. Coi Leray has had very public issues with her father Benzino in the past and she’s made it clear that she does not want her name or newfound fame to be tied to him.
But when Benzino called out his daughter Monday in response to the criticisms she’s publicly made about his parenting, all bets were off and the two took their family feud to the social media streets.
Today’s drama began when Benzino shared his response to a comment about him and Coi’s relationship in the form of an Instagram post.
The comment Benzino responded to read, “Benzino with all due respect, your daughter has to see how these other (fathers) in these streets treat their children, then (maybe) she will realize how good she had it bro.”
Benzino responded by saying he “did everything right” when it came to parenting Coi and now he claims he’s being lied on. “F**k all that. I don’t like that. Coi was raised in mansions and had everything she ever asked for. My other 2 sons are grown and would never say these things. It’s wrong and f**k who thinks different. Her mother has a lot to do with this slimey s**t anyway.”
Not long after, Coi Leray went on live to address her father’s claims and essentially suggested that he was only making noise now because her music is charting.
She also made a series of tweets explaining the situation and claims when she reached out to him because she needed him, he allegedly told Coi she should have been a boy.
