While some of us have been working on passion projects during the Quarantine, Philly resident Nico took it to a whole different level! He revamped his whole kitchen and the outcome is amazing. He documented the entire process and shared it on his social media platforms. He told TSR that quarantine brought along its own sense of depression. Before buying his home, he loved cooking but his kitchen, not being up to his standards, hindered him from cooking. Nico decided to take matters into his own hands by remodeling the kitchen.
He received a quote from Home Depot for $13,000 and decided to bet on himself and do it without their help. With his dad being a general contractor, he had an idea of what to do, but this was his first time doing a project like this on his own. While he documented the journey, he mentioned how he met an electrician he hired to help him with the renovations when he was purchasing supplies from Home Depot.
Nico put in a new wall, upgraded to stainless steel appliances, and even added a beautiful tile floor. Not to mention the granite countertops and the perfect abstract backsplash that he added.
He didn’t stop there. He even added upgraded white cabinets to complete the look. He did a great job overall and only spent $7,000 on the kitchen. As an essential worker, the project took three months to finish in total. However, it was still quicker than what the Home Depot quoted him, and it saved him $8,000!
Roommates, what do you think about this transformation?!
