#Roommates, ever since NeNe Leakes announced her official departure from the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” there has been endless tea spilled and rumors flowing regarding what actually happened to make her exit the show. In a recent interview, NeNe went into even more detail than she has previously regarding the show and confirmed that she was not fired—but she decided to leave after being unhappy with an offer she received.
In an exclusive with @EntertianmentTonight, NeNe Leakes set the record straight once and for all about leaving the Bravo hit reality series “Real Housewives of Atlanta” after 12 seasons where she was the only original cast member. Confirming what led to her departure, NeNe said “I left the show. I had an offer on the table. I did not think the offer was a fair offer.” When asked if she would ever come back to the show she helped make a household name, she said she is not interested at the moment, “I wish them all the best, really, I do, but I don’t think that’s the place for me.”
Elsewhere in the interview, she also opened up about her currently rocky relationship with Bravo head honcho Andy Cohen, who she recently called out for allegedly trying to force her out of the show:
“Well, I thought that we had a relationship and a great relationship. But maybe we didn’t. I don’t know. You know, you don’t turn off your feelings for someone because you had an argument. I’ve always loved Andy like he was a family member of mine. I worked with him for a very long time so I have a lot of love for him, so, you know, you can’t just turn your feelings off because you had an argument.”
While the two aren’t on the best of terms at the moment, NeNe has hope that their issues can be mended in the future:
“I mean, again, I consider him to be like family, families argue. Families fight. Families come back together. I have nothing but love for him and I’m certain that we will talk. We just texted right after that happened.”
As we previously reported, NeNe Leakes may be leaving “RHOA,” but she has a new show premiering very soon on E!.
