#Roomies, it looks like these gender reveal parties are becoming dangerous and getting out of hand. According to reports, another California wildfire was started in San Bernardino County, during a gender reveal party. A “smoke-generating pyrotechnic device” used at the party sparked the El Dorado Fire in San Bernardino County, a press release stated.
The fire actually started on Saturday morning and spread to El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa. At just 7% contained, it has now grown to 7,400 acres, according to CNN.
Reports also state that more than 500 personnel have been deployed to the fire, along with 60 engines and four helicopters. No charges have been filed at the time.
Over the weekend, Los Angeles County recorded its highest-ever temperature. Because of this, wildfires were fanned across the state and put strain on the state’s power network.
According to the National Weather Service, the temperature reached 121 degrees in Los Angeles County.
“We reached 121 degrees (F) in Woodland Hills, California. That is the highest-ever temperature at a station, beating 119 degrees on July 22, 2006,” Bruno told CNN Sunday.
Governor Newsom also declared a state of emergency, as temperatures continued to rise. An alert was also given to California residents to conserve power between 3 and 10 p.m..
In 2017, a gender reveal party also sparked a wildfire in Arizona, CNN reports.
With nearly 47,000 acres burned and more than $8 million in damages, the expected father packed target explosive Tannerite and shot it with a high-powered rifle.
Pleading guilty in 2018 to a misdemeanor, he was sentenced to five years’ probation and ordered to pay almost $8.2 million in restitution.
