Bringing the star-studded, four-day convention to a close, former Vice President Joe Biden officially accepted the Democratic nomination for the presidency.
It is with great honor and humility that I accept this nomination for President of the United States of America.

“Who we are as a nation, what we stand for, and who we want to be — that’s on the ballot this November,” Biden tweeted shortly after the grand spectacle came to a close.
Our president has failed in his most basic duty to this nation.
He failed to protect us.
He failed to protect America.
And that is unforgivable.— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) August 21, 2020
In the passionately delivered speech, Biden criticized Trump’s leadership and reassured Americans that if elected, he’d be a president for everyone, not just those who support him.
“Our current President has failed in his most basic duty to the nation. He has failed to protect us, he has failed to protect America,” Biden said.
“This is not a partisan moment. This must be an American moment,” he said, as he looked directly into the camera to tell voters he was running to reclaim the country’s character at a time of darkness. “This campaign isn’t just about winning votes, it is about winning the heart and, yes, the soul of America.”
As the man of the evening, Biden was lauded by speakers who talked about his leadership and character. During the course of his speech, however, Biden used some of his time to take Trump to task over the way he’s handled the pandemic, according to CNN.
