Lavar Ball is currently trending on social media after a recent episode of his family’s Facebook show “Ball in the Family.” In a clip that has been circulating, Lonzo was asked if he would change the name of the family’s “Big Baller Brand.
When Lonzo suggested a name change, Lavar said, “When I come out with a name and then somebody tells me to change it, that’s like me telling me to change your name. That’s like people saying ‘Oh, hey, change Lonzo’s name to Alfonzo on the fact that he been damaged goods for the last two years.”
Not too many people were happy with Lavar’s choice of words towards his son, meanwhile, some people didn’t think too much of his words. According to CBS Sports, the discussion of the name change stemmed from the incident earlier this year when Big Baller Brand founder Alan Foster allegedly stole $2 million.
As we previously reported, when Lonzo cut ties with Alan he accused him of using “his access to my business and personal finances to enrich himself. As a result, I have decided to sever all ties with Alan, effective immediately.”
LaVar had also spoken about the matter and said, “I’ve always believed in the best in people. Regretfully, I put my complete trust in Alan Foster to manage my son’s business affairs. At the end of the day, family comes first, and I support Zo wholeheartedly. Together, we will make this right.”
Nonetheless, social media users inserted their opinions on LaVar’s choice of words towards Lonzo. One person said, “Lonzo ball has got to cut ties with his pops for a while and hire people that’ll actually put him in the best situation financially.”

While another person said, “Be careful of those who are pushing for Lonzo Ball to break ties with his dad, Lavar. People will try to break families up, out of spite. Lavar knows that Lonzo is not damaged goods. They will figure it out, Together!”

Alright…Lavar Ball did not call Lonzo damaged goods!!!
He said that’s like PEOPLE saying your damaged goods and I should change your name to Alfonso. He just tryna make his point felt to Lonzo.
Could he have chosen a better example? Maybe. But it was a very relevant example

He was really spitting facts tho. Like not a single thing he said was wrong. Is anybody talking about Lonzo ball today if not for his father? He’s missed more games than he’s played with injuries but he still popular and it ain’t shit he doing.
