Meek Mill is always known for going back to his hometown of Philadelphia and giving back to the community, and Friday was no different as he returned to his former elementary school to hand out backpacks and supplies.
According to Complex, Meek teamed up with Puma to donate a year worth of supplies to 30 classrooms at James G. Blaine Elementary. He also donated 500 backpacks to the students filled with school supplies.
He surprised the students in the school’s auditorium and said, “I wanted to stop here today, my elementary school that I grew up at… I just wanted to back and show my love and appreciation to my neighborhood. I want to give a shoutout to Puma for collaborating with me on school supplies and book bags… I came here to give the kids a message: Continue to chase your dreams.”
Meek Mill has been having an amazing year so far.
As we reported earlier this month, Meek and prosecutors negotiated a deal to have the charges against him from his 2007 case officially dropped. As many of you already know, the case has kept him on probation for more than a decade.
Aside from that he also began partnered with Roc Nation to launch his Dream Chasers label and also was named as one of the inaugural ambassadors for Roc Nation and the NFL’s “Inspire Change,” campaign.
