TSR Sports: Here’s some international Black Boy Joy for your timeline. Curacao’s little league team just became international champions!
Curacao’s team, representing for the entire Caribbean region, defeated Japan’s team with a score of 5-4 in a back-and-forth game today. The international champs will now advance to Sunday’s title game and will face either Hawaii or Louisiana for the whole thing!
Curacao hasn’t made an appearance in the Little League final in nearly 15 years. The small island was able to get a leg up on Japan, who was hoping to make it to its seventh Little League World Series title game in the last 10 years, according to Sporting News.
Curacao’s Little League team actually won the title back in 2004, which is the only title win to date for a Caribbean team.
They played hard these past few days in Chicago, originally losing 4-0 to South Korea, a team Japan beat 7-2. But the team redeemed itself on Thursday with a 5-3 win in a rematch.
We hope y’all are watching at home to see these boys go for the big win! We’ll keep you posted on any updates, Roommates!
