Over the weekend, Kanye West and Kid Cudi performed at the Camp Flog Gnaw Festival in Los Angeles. The two rappers performed in a glass box that floated above the stage. The duo performed under the name Kids See Ghosts, which is also the name of their joint album.
On Monday, singer Lorde took to social media to post photos of her past stage design, which also showed a glass box floating over the stage. She then posted photos of Kanye and Cudi on stage over the weekend.
She finished off her posts with one final photo of her on stage and said, “I’m proud of the work I do and it’s flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves.”
She continued, “But don’t steal—not from women or anyone else—not in 2018 or ever.”
According to Variety, Lorde used the glass box design on her “Melodrama” tour earlier this year.
Check out the photos below to see both stage designs.
Lorde calls out Kanye West for stealing her box stage idea: A few hours ago, controversy arose when Kanye West and Kid Cudi performed on a floating stage, a replica of Lorde’s – a female artist’s – North American Tour staple.
