#Roommates, if you are looking for a job but don’t meet the college degree requirements, then you may be in luck. Book smarts doesn’t always equal good work ethic or natural talent, and there are a handful of companies who are now recognizing that by no longer requiring a university degree for some of their top positions.
According to job site Glassdoor, more and more companies are dropping the standard requirement to focus on applicants who are talented outside of traditional academic institutions. This means if you are self taught or learned the skills from experience or even in high school, you are not out of the running.
Let’s keep it real… with the way college tuition is looking these days, many Americans can’t afford the time or money to earn a 4-year degree. Laszlo Bock, Google’s former SVP of People Operations, said these “exceptional human beings” are still worth finding.
“When you look at people who don’t go to school and make their way in the world, those are exceptional human beings. And we should do everything we can to find those people,” Bock said.
