Erykah Badu, Maxwell and Alicia Keys are among some of the big names that are expected to appear at the upcoming protest against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
According to Billboard, organizers have assembled more than 20 authors, actors, artists and producers to join the protest in Washington D.C. on Thursday October 4th outside of the Supreme Court.
The event, which is being called #BraveryIsContagious, is in attempt to protest against Kavanaugh’s confirmation. The event comes after a national walkout staged last week, in support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez. Both women accused the Supreme Court nominee of sexual assault.
The official website for the event reads, “We anticipate a vote on the Senate floor to confirm Brett Kavanaugh as early as Friday. It is critical we make our voices heard on the ground in Washington on Thursday.”
The statement continues, “If there was ever a moment when the voice of the people can come together in concert to change the fate of our nation, this is it. Arm in arm, organized and ready, every child, woman, and man, must take to the streets to protest this nomination. The legitimacy of the nation’s highest court is at stake as is the future of our country.”
The event is also urging people to call their senators to express their disapproval of Kavanaugh before the confirmation takes place on Friday.
Roommates, what are your thoughts?
