I’m living for this young boss and the #BlackGirlMagic she’s giving, #Roommates, before starting the second grade, 7-year-old #NeijaeGrahamHenries of #Philadelphia learned how to cut hair and even passed barber training school. But now she’s doing it for the neighborhood as community service!
Her interest sparked after tagging along with her older brother at the #JuniorBarberAcademy in North Philly to learn about training, @cbs_philly reported. It turns out he wasn’t interested, but Neijae was.
“When we came back home, she saw some of the information on social media and she said, ‘Mom, he doesn’t want to do it, I’ll give it a go,’” said Neijae’s mother, Jamie Graham. Michael Boone, who is the owner of the barber academy, says Neijae is his youngest trainee.
“Neijae was 7 years old when she came through our program,” said Boone.
She actually passed barber training school before she started second grade and at the tender age of 7, she passed. She is now giving free haircuts to neighborhood kids as community service.
“The whole process is to finish it and do it really good and to, like, style it good,” Neijae said.
“She wasn’t intimidated because she was the youngest student and she was not intimidated because she was the only female,” her mother added.
While Neijae is out here achieving goals, she said there is one “celebrity” whose hair she’d love to cut.
“Donald Trump, he has too much long hair, so I would cut it,” she said.
