Recently we reported about a soccer team trapped inside a cave in Thailand. The team of 12 boys and their coach were facing trouble as the oxygen levels in the cave started to decrease.
Since four of the boys have been rescued from the cave.
According to Fox News, four of the members of the soccer team were rescued on Sunday, leaving eight other boys and their coach. A team of 18 divers came together to rescue the group after they were trapped for more than two weeks.
The four boys that were rescued traveled 0.62 miles underwater before reaching safety. They were taken to the hospital, however, their condition was not released. The head of the joint command center coordinating the search said he met with the boys and described them as being in “perfect” health and called the mission the “best situation.”
The next phase to rescue the remaining eight boys and their coach will begin within 10 to 12 hours. Divers have to restore their oxygen supply and evaluate a plan to rescue the remaining members.
The team of divers used to carry out the mission consists of 13 foreign divers and five Thai divers.
The soccer team and their coach became stranded in the cave on June 23rd after they went exploring following a practice game. Flooding from monsoons cut off their ability to escape.
